Gardners Falls is one of the Sunshine Coast Hinterland’s most loved swimming spots, offering an easy rainforest walk, grassy creek banks, and two inviting waterfalls along Obi Obi Creek. Where Is Gardners Falls?
Gardners Falls is located near Maleny in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland.The small carpark and start of the walk sit around five kilometres from Maleny, at the end of Obi Lane South. Facilities near the carpark include toilets and picnic tables, making it an easy and convenient stop.
The Walk to Gardners Falls
The walk to Gardners Falls is short (600 metres return), flat, and family-friendly, following a well-maintained pathway through shady forest. It’s an easy stroll suitable for most ages and fitness levels, and ideal on warm days thanks to the tree cover.
The track follows Obi Obi Creek, with several lovely spots to pause along the way.
The First Waterfall & Creek Pools
Not far from the carpark, you’ll reach the first waterfall, where Obi Obi Creek cascades gently over a rocky ledge into a small waterhole. Along this section of the path are shallow freshwater pools, perfect for paddling and cooling off. Grassy banks and native forest surround the creek, making it a peaceful place to relax and enjoy the natural setting.
The Second Waterfall & Main Swimming Hole
Continuing along the pathway brings you to the second waterfall, which is slightly larger and drops around five metres into a deep, clear waterhole. This is the main swimming area at Gardners Falls and a popular spot with both locals and visitors. The deeper pool is ideal for a proper swim, while the surrounding rocks and grassy edges are great for sunbaking or watching the water flow past.
