The Hogarth Falls walk is one of Tasmania’s 60 Great Short Walks, making it an accessible and enjoyable option for walkers of most abilities. The walk starts at the end of People’s Park and follows a flat, well-maintained track alongside Botanical Creek. Much of the path is shaded by tall eucalypts, leatherwood, sassafras, and myrtle, with sections of non-slip boardwalk that make it comfortable even during wetter months.

Learning Along the Way

One of the unique features of this walk is the series of interpretive signs created by local Strahan Primary School students. These signs share information about the plants and forest environment, adding a thoughtful and educational touch to the walk.

Just before reaching the falls, the track becomes slightly steeper for a short section before arriving at the viewing area.

At the Base of Hogarth Falls

After enjoying the view from the main lookout, the walk continues with a short descent to the base of Hogarth Falls. A small flight of steps leads down through the rainforest, bringing you right to the rocky creek edge where the water spills gently into the pool below.
