Lovers Falls
Lovers Falls, near Corinna in Tasmania’s rugged west, is a picturesque waterfall set amidst dense rainforest and the wild Pieman River landscape. It is accessible via kayak or the Sweetwater Cruise from Corinna and is then a short boardwalk to the viewing platform.
This lovely waterfall is surrounded by lush rainforest, and it falls about 40 metres over the cliff into the river below.
It is accessible from Corinna by kayak or on the Sweetwater Cruise; you pull up to the set of stairs on the northern side of the Pieman River, and walk along the wooden boardwalk for approximately 200 metres, and you will reach a viewing area for Lovers Falls.
Directions to Corinna
Corinna is approximately 90 kilometres from Strahan on the West Coast of Tasmania. From Strahan, head north on Andrew Street (B27) towards Gaffney Street. Then follow the B27 for 41.9 kilometres, then turn left onto Main Street (C249).
Continue along the C249 for 37.4 kilometres, then turn left onto Corinna Road (C249). Travel along the Corinna Road for 12.3 kilometres until you reach the "Fatman Barge".
Four kilometres of this road is unsealed but suitable for a 2WD vehicle. Take the ferry across the Pieman River and hire a Kayak, or take the Sweetwater Cruise to Lovers Falls.
