Robinson Falls, Queensland - A lovely Twin Waterfall near Nambour

Tucked away in a quiet pocket of the Sunshine Coast, Robinson Falls is a peaceful rainforest escape that feels worlds away from the bustle. With an easy walking circuit, a shady picnic spot, and a pretty twin waterfall tumbling into a fern-filled gully, it’s the perfect short adventure for families, nature lovers, and anyone chasing a calm moment outdoors.

Where Is Robinson Falls?

Robinson Falls is located in Cilento Park, right in the heart of Nambour on the Sunshine Coast. The park is well set up with a grassy open area, picnic tables, toilets, and a small playground—making it a great place to relax before or after your walk.

The Robinson Falls Circuit Walk

The 1-kilometre circuit track begins on either side of the park and loops through peaceful bushland along an undulating, well-formed dirt track. It’s an easy walk for most fitness levels and a lovely way to stretch your legs without committing to a long hike.

As you wander beneath tall trees, you’ll hear birdsong and the gentle sound of water flowing through the creek, adding to the calm rainforest atmosphere.

Discovering Robinson Falls

Robinson Falls is a twin waterfall, formed where Tuckers Creek cascades over rocky ledges into a shaded waterhole below. At the top of the falls, the track requires a short rock crossing—take your time here, especially after rain. From there, the path continues down a set of steps to the base of the falls, where you’ll find a tranquil viewing area surrounded by palms and lush greenery. It’s a beautiful spot to pause, take photos, or simply enjoy the cool air drifting up from the gully.

A Touch of Local History

Robinson Falls was named after Edmund Alfred and Arthur Campbell Robinson, brothers who were early settlers in the area. Their name lives on through this quiet natural landmark, now enjoyed by locals and visitors alike.

Tips for Visiting Robinson Falls

Best after rain – The falls are most impressive following good rainfall

Wear sturdy shoes – The rock crossing and steps can be slippery

Take care on the rocks – When crossing at the top of the falls, especially after rain

Swimming is not recommended – Rocks can be slick and water levels unpredictable

Pack a picnic – Cilento Park is ideal for a relaxed lunch after the walk

Look and listen – Birdlife is abundant, particularly in the early morning

Why Robinson Falls Is Worth a Visit

If you’re looking for a short, scenic walk with minimal effort and maximum reward, Robinson Falls is a lovely choice. With its easy circuit, peaceful setting, and charming twin cascades, it’s a reminder that some of the Sunshine Coast’s best nature spots are hiding right in town.
