Halls Gap is a charming village tucked into the scenic Fyans Valley, right in the heart of Grampians National Park in Victoria. Surrounded by rugged mountain ranges, native bushland and roaming kangaroos, it’s one of Victoria’s most popular bases for exploring the Grampians. Located around 260 kilometres northwest of Melbourne, Halls Gap is an easy and rewarding road trip destination. Things to do in the Grampians National Park
A series of natural rock pools along Stony Creek is perfect for a refreshing dip or a relaxing stop. The area also features small waterfalls and scenic walking trails, and is perfect for a short walk from Halls Gap
MacKenzie Falls is one of the Grampians’ most loved and most visited iconic waterfalls, where water thunders year-round over rugged sandstone cliffs into a deep, dramatic gorge below.
From the base of MacKenzie Falls, continue along the track beside the MacKenzie River, and you will see the lovely Fish Falls as it cascades 60 metres over the terraced rocks into a deep pool below.
The 4.2-kilometre return walk to The Pinnacle Lookout takes you past Bridal Veil Falls and through the narrow Silent Street. At the top, you are rewarded with fantastic views over Halls Gap and Lake Bellfield.
Splitters Falls is a beautiful waterfall in the Grampians, where water cascades over rugged cliffs into a peaceful pool, surrounded by lush bushland and native wildlife, it's a perfect spot for a short walk.
Along this steep 2.2-kilometre return walk to the summit of Hollow Mountain, you will see rugged sandstone cliffs, fascinating caves and fantastic views over Mount Stapylton and the Wimmera plains.
