While the walk is manageable for most reasonably fit visitors, it’s important to take plenty of water, especially on warm or humid days. The good news is that the return journey is mostly downhill, making for a much easier stroll back to the car park.

Swimming at Clamshell Falls

Near the end of the track, a fence marks the top of the walking path. From here, looking over the edge reveals a well-worn track leading down to the swimming hole below.

Carefully descend the rocky path to reach the freshwater pool at the base of the falls. The swimming hole is deep, clear and wonderfully cool, making it the perfect place to relax and refresh after the hike in. Take extra care on wet rocks, as they can be slippery.
