Oysters Kilpatrick in the Weber

Oysters Kilpatrick in the Weber
Delicious oysters kilpatrick are one of our favourite easy campground meals when we can source fresh local oysters. We cooked them up at Surfleet Cove Campground in Lincoln National Park, enjoying the simple pleasure of good food in the great outdoors. Packed with flavour and quick to make, this recipe is perfect for motorhome and camping trips when you want something tasty without the fuss.

Ingredients
1 dozen natural oysters in shell
2 rashers of bacon
2 tablespoons tomato sauce
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
Dash of Tabasco sauce
1/2 Lemon to serve
Method
Shuck the Oysters:
If you purchased unopened oysters, hold them in your hand and pry the shell open with an oyster shucker. Drain any excess liquid and remove any shell fragments.
Cut up the Bacon:
Cut the two rashers of bacon into small pieces and place into a bowl.
Make the Kilpatrick Sauce:
In the bowl, add the tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and Tabasco sauce and mix thoroughly. Top the open oysters with the Kilpatrick mix.
Cook the Oysters:
Put the oysters in a hot Weber (approx. 200 C) for approximately 10 minutes, until the oysters are cooked and the bacon is crispy.
Plate Up & Serve:
Pop the oysters still in their shells on a plate and serve with lemon wedge. Enjoy!
