Wallacha Falls
Wallacha Falls is located in North Queensland’s Wet Tropics in the Wooroonooran National Park. It is a stunning waterfall best admired from the dedicated lookout. Plunging dramatically into the rainforest below, the falls offer a spectacular photo opportunity and a chance to appreciate the lush tropical scenery without a strenuous hike. The Henrietta Creek tumbles over the mossy basalt rocks, forming a series of varying-sized and intensity waterfalls. A short walk away, you can also see Tchupala Falls.
From the road, you will see a track through the rainforest; follow this track along until you come to a signpost and turn left to the Wallacha Falls walk. The walk is 1.4 kilometres return along an undulating gravel track.
At the end of the track, you will reach a viewing platform where you can see Wallacha Falls through the trees. There is no track to access the base of the falls. While in this area, you can also walk to Tchupala Falls, another interesting waterfall.
Directions to Wallacha Falls
From Innisfail, drive North on the Bruce Highway for 5 kilometres, then turn west onto the Palmerston Highway and drive for 30 kilometres. You will see a sign for Wallacha and Tchupala Falls.
There is some off-road parking on the sides of the main road, and you can wander through the trees to the start of the walking track.
