Lemonade Scones ~ Cooked in Weber
Lemonade scones cooked in the Weber are one of our favourite easy camping treats, and they’re perfect when you want something delicious without a long list of ingredients. We cooked these golden, fluffy scones up at Tocumwal Town Beach Campground, enjoying a relaxed afternoon by the Murray River while they baked away in the Weber.
With just a few simple ingredients and minimal prep, these lemonade scones are ideal for camping, caravanning, or anytime you feel like a quick homemade treat in the great outdoors.

Ingredients
3 cups self-raising flour
Pinch of salt
1 cup lemonade
1 cup thickened cream
Jam & Cream to serve
Makes 12 normal-sized scones
or 8 large scones.
Method
Preheat the Weber to 190°C–200°C.
In a large mixing bowl, sift the flour and then add a pinch of salt. Make a well in the centre, then pour in the lemonade and cream. Gently mix with a flat-bladed knife until just combined—don’t overwork it.
Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead lightly for a minute or two until smooth. Pat or roll out to about 2cm thick.
Dip a 5cm round cutter (or whatever you have, we used an egg ring) in flour and cut out the scones. Gather and reshape any leftover dough to cut out more.
Arrange the scones 1cm apart on a tray sprinkled with flour. Brush the tops lightly with leftover cream.
Place the tray in the Weber and cook with the lid closed for 10–12 minutes, check and cook longer if required until the scones have risen and turned golden brown.
Allow to cool slightly, then serve warm with jam and cream.
These lemonade scones are proof that camping food can be both easy and delicious. Baked in the Weber and enjoyed beside the Murray River at Tocumwal Town Beach Campground, they’re the perfect treat for a relaxed afternoon tea or a quick breakfast while travelling. Light, fluffy, and made with just a few ingredients, this is one camping recipe you’ll find yourself making again and again on the road.
